Tidying Tips & Tricks to Keep Your Home Clean
Cleaning can be a daunting task. Whether it's laundry, dusting, or even finding hiding spots in your home for your belongings, chores always seem to pile up. Motivation for cleaning doesn't always come easily. That's why we have created a list of cleaning tips to help you get and keep your home clean.
Make the Bed
A morning routine that includes a bit of tidying can help to jumpstart your productivity for the day. The simple task of making your bed each morning not only gives you a small win to start your day with, but it can drastically improve the look of your room. A freshly-made bed looks cozy, and clean. Even if you have a pile of chores to take care of, getting at least one part of your home looking clean can alleviate some stress.
Declutter
Many of us are guilty of hoarding useless things, and our homes suffer the cost. Without adequate storage, finding a place for your things can be quite tricky. When non-essential items live in your home without a functional place for them, it can cause your home to feel cluttered. Clutter makes a space look smaller and messier, even if your home is clean. By getting rid of some non-essentials, you can free up storage space, as well as improve the look of your home.
Set a Timer
One of the best tips for cleaning is simply carving out time. Thinking of a to-do list can be overwhelming, to say the least. But, if you simply decide to set a timer for ten to twenty minutes each day, you are guaranteed to surprise yourself with how much you are able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. Sometimes, setting the timer is enough to get you motivated. If you set your timer for ten minutes, and it flies by, you may even feel compelled to set it for another ten minutes, and get more cleaning done!
Pack It Out
Cleaning is pretty easy when you make it a part of what you are already doing. A clean house is a happy house, and by never leaving a room empty-handed, you can tidy your space with minimal effort. If you are already moving from one room to another, consider taking things with you. Let's say you have a load of laundry downstairs that needs to be folded and put away, but you're on your way upstairs. Bring it with you! There's no reason to leave it sitting if you are headed to where it belongs. Bringing that laundry up with you eliminates one more thing on your checklist, and even if you don't have time to put it away immediately, at least you will see it before going to sleep.
And there you have it, some simple ways to get your house clean, and keep it that way. While hiring out for cleaning services is easy, there are small daily changes you can make to keep up with cleaning.
